Scope of Practice

Knowing the limits of my work is part of doing it well. This page says clearly what I do, and just as clearly what I do not.

What I do

I offer massage, assisted stretching and dry cupping, delivered in your home. The work is manual, hands on, and focused on how your body moves and feels. Cupping in my practice is dry only. There is no wet cupping and no intentional skin penetration.

What I do not do

I do not diagnose conditions, and I do not treat illness or injury. A session with me is not medical care, and it does not replace your doctor, your physiotherapist or emergency services. Claims that massage can diagnose, cure or replace appropriate medical care should be treated with caution.

Your choices during a session

Your choices are respected at every point. Consent can be withdrawn at any time, and the session adjusts or stops around it without question. Where something sits outside my scope, I may recommend that you see an appropriately registered health professional, and your own doctor is always the right person to guide that choice.

When I will say no

If what you describe sits outside my scope, or I am not confident a session is right for you on that day, I will say so. I may postpone the session, adapt it, or decline it, and I will tell you why. That conversation costs nothing and it protects us both.

If something concerns you

If you have symptoms that worry you, new pain you cannot explain, or anything that feels urgent, see the right health professional first. Your GP, a physiotherapist, or emergency services on 000 come before any session with me.

The code I work under

As a non-registered health practitioner in New South Wales, I work under the NSW Code of Conduct for non-registered health practitioners. It sets standards for honesty, safety and professional behaviour, and I hold myself to it. The official code and the official information on how to make a complaint are on the NSW Code of Conduct page.
