Injured for years, I learnt what a body asks for long before it stops asking. Seven years a sergeant in the French army, then competitive basketball and handball, semi-professional in both. Two metres tall, with the long back and stubborn hips that taught me early. My signature came with it: one wave from the crown, one from beneath the feet, crossing the length of you, again and again.
